Attention Racers

As you will see from the map, the course has changed. Due to some safety concerns, the Missouri State Water Patrol, in conjunction with our Course Committee, have moved the starting location of the course. The finish line is at the same place, only you will be starting down stream instead of by the bridge. The bluff will be on your left side instead of your right. After the finish line you will have approximately 5/6 of a mile to shut down before you reach Hi-Way Cove. You must be at idle speed when you reach the docks in front of Royale Palms and Plaza Gardens Condominiums.

Even though the winds were at your back and out of the North last year, that was very unusual for August and they normally would be out of the Southwest. Because of the bluff protection, we do not feel this will be an issue. There were several times when the docks just past the finish line were a concern for some racers. This will not be the case this year as there are no docks after the finish line until you reach them at Royale Palms Condominiums.

We hope that you will find running this direction in 2010 a much safer course for all involved.

Lake of the Ozarks Shootout being held at Captain Ron's Bar & Grill August 23 - 29th, 2010 will bring the top racers and off shore racing power boats topping 196 MPH. The largest unsanctioned boat race in the midwest with over 100 racers and 70,000 spectators. Proceeds will benefit the Lake Area Rescue Teams, and other charitable organizations!
